01 / READ THE RATIO
Petrol : oil. Always in that order.
For Trail49’s 10:1 mix, divide the petrol volume by 10, using the same unit for both. 1,000 ml petrol needs 100 ml oil.

New to mixing fuel? Start hereMeasure this much two-stroke oil
ml
1 litre of petrol + 100 ml of two-stroke oil makes 1.1 litres of mixture.
Measure both separately, then mix in an approved container.
Choose your engine’s ratio and enter your petrol amount.
Illustrations use separate scales. Measure with accurate graduated equipment, never from the drawings. Decimal results are rounded.
Never run a premix engine on petrol alone. Missing oil, too little oil or unsuitable oil can permanently damage the engine. An adult must handle mixing and refuelling.
A QUICK REFERENCE
For Trail49 at 10:1 petrol : oil. Each row starts with petrol, then adds the oil shown.
Oil in ml = petrol in litres × 1,000 ÷ the ratio number. For example, 1 litre at 50:1 needs 20 ml of oil. That is a calculation example, not a Trail49 setting.
| Petrol | Add 2T oil | Mixture total |
|---|---|---|
| 250 ml | 25 ml | 275 ml |
| 500 ml | 50 ml | 550 ml |
| 1 litre | 100 ml | 1.1 litres |
| 2 litres | 200 ml | 2.2 litres |
| 5 litres | 500 ml | 5.5 litres |
Petrol amounts are measured before adding oil. A 1-litre petrol amount is not the same as 1 litre of finished mixture.
FROM NUMBERS TO READY
Use this tool to measure a batch. Check your engine’s manual for suitable fuel, oil and operating instructions before you start.
Measure your petrol first, then the matching oil amount. Use a graduated oil measure. Don’t guess or round down.
Add petrol and oil to a clean, approved petrol-mixing container. Close it securely and mix thoroughly. Never mix in the bike’s tank.
Engine off and cool. Fill outdoors, away from flames, sparks and smoking. Keep children clear, wipe spills and secure the fuel cap.
FOR TRAIL49 OWNERS
Choose two-stroke oil intended for premix in an air-cooled petrol engine. Check that its maker supports this use at 10:1. Four-stroke oil and outboard-only oil are not substitutes.
Get a graduated oil measure and a clean, approved petrol-mixing container. Buy petrol from a petrol station and check its compatibility, including ethanol content, before the first fill. For another engine, follow its own fuel and oil requirements.

Petrol first. Oil added to it. Here’s what the ratio means and why the total changes.
01 / READ THE RATIO
For Trail49’s 10:1 mix, divide the petrol volume by 10, using the same unit for both. 1,000 ml petrol needs 100 ml oil.
02 / MORE OIL, NOT LESS
50:1 and 25:1 are different mixes. Use your engine’s specified ratio. These examples are not Trail49 settings.
03 / LEAVE ROOM FOR BOTH
At 10:1, one litre of petrol makes a calculated 1.1 litres of mixture after you add oil. Allow room for both in your mixing container; never overfill it or the tank.
04 / USING ANOTHER ENGINE?
Choose “Another bike or engine” and select its specified premix ratio. The calculator works out quantities; it cannot decide which fuel, oil or ratio your engine needs. Separate oil-injection systems may have different requirements.
05 / MIX BEFORE YOU FILL
For Trail49, mix thoroughly in a clean, approved petrol-mixing container first. Refuel outdoors, with the engine off and cool. An adult must handle fuel and mixing.
